Since this was a “straight to video” release (yes that’s the term I’m going to use), I guess I had this unconscious belief that this was going to be a more simplistic, and FUN, modern horror release as opposed to an overly-deep Elevated Horror situation. Sadly, I was wrong.

This flick started out extremely promising. It seemed like it was going to be a straightforward plot, but I WAS a little annoyed at the ‘clues about protagonist’s life’ breadcrumbing. Also,

I slowly chipped away at this film over the course of several terrible days, and finished it off on a headache day. It was kind of interesting making my way through a stressful and upsetting film during a time I wasn't very happy myself. In some ways, it brought comfort, and in other ways, it was perhaps more upsetting than it would have been if I was in a good place while watching it. I was interested in this film because I LOVE parlour games. Bloody Mary, Ouija boards, seances, stuff like that. Talk To Me centers around a loosely-connected group of teens who have come into possession of an artifact which facilitates a mediumistic experience. Overall, I really had a fun time with this film.
